Every time I hear the name of Ajmal Kasab, my Blood pressure shoots up very badly.Not even a child in India needs a introduction about this terrorist,his blue t shirt and machine gun. He will not remember how many people he would have killed. Of course there is no need for him to keep a count. In the name of democracy,judiciary and fair trail, the government has given him a lawyer to defend. I cant understand what ajmal kasab and his lawyer have to defend? Are they going to say that some impersonation has taken place, he is not the man shown in the picture, and police have made a wrong arrest.One shocking fact is that the lawyer is paid a whooping 50,000 or 5000 rupees fees per month/per day as per media reports. I always wanted to write a blog on my once favourite newspaper THE HINDU.Here is my story. Needless to introduce,'THE HINDU' prides itself as India's National newspaper since the middle of the 18th century. The mount road maha vishnu, as it was once called by the Tamil Nadu rationalists is giving testing time to its readers who have been behind it for generations together. If i am not wrong i started reading this newspaper when i was studying fourth standard in the early 90's only on saturdays and sundays. I still remember the paper boy/man for whom i used to wait from 7 am to 9 am. Our house was the last for him in his distribution list. My interest on this newspaper picked up slowly and i started reading articles,editorials very deeply . During the late 90's politics was not so communalized and secularized as it is now. The country is busy in elections to elect the 15 th Lok sabha. As i see the various issues dominating the poll process, something seems to be missing very seriously. It is nothing but the issue of nationalism and the feeling of India. The issue of electing a strong, non-corrupt and efficient union government does not seem to bother anyone. Power hungry regional leaders have completely hijacked this lok sabha election and made it look like a municipal election. Let me talk about the issue of Sri Lanka and LTTE in Tamil Nadu politics. Today almost all the parties have gone to the extent of supporting LTTE. Rewind the past to few months back where only the fringe elements like MDMK,PMK,VCK and Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam supported LTTE and its call for separate eelam. Today AIADMK and DMK have also jumped into the band wagon.DMK was non committal on this issue for sometime.
